Scottish Ocean Cluster at Seafood Expo Global 2026

We were delighted to attend Seafood Expo Global 2026 in Barcelona, where we hosted a stand within the Scottish Pavilion and engaged with seafood businesses, innovators and industry leaders from around the world.

A highlight of the event was hosting a packed 100% Fish Roundtable featuring Thor Sigfusson, founder of the Iceland Ocean Cluster, which sparked discussion on innovation, collaboration and unlocking greater value from seafood resources.

Joining the Global Conversation at Blue Food Innovation Summit

We returned from Barcelona with new connections, fresh ideas and growing momentum as we continue to strengthen Scotland's seafood innovation ecosystem.

The Scottish Ocean Cluster was proud to participate in the Blue Food Innovation Summit 2026, joining leading voices from across the seafood, aquaculture, technology and investment sectors to discuss the future of sustainable blue food systems.

A highlight of the event was seeing our CEO, Donna Fordyce, take to the main stage as a panellist to explore how stronger innovation ecosystems can accelerate the development and commercialisation of new ideas across the blue economy.

The Summit generated valuable discussions around collaboration, innovation and maximising the value of marine resources, reinforcing the importance of partnerships in unlocking new opportunities for Scotland's seafood sector.
